Phishing attack: Biossance Cosmetics

This morning (Friday 28th January) the team at Sweethaven became aware of a widespread phishing attack. A number of our clients reported being in receipt of malicious phishing emails from Biossance Cosmetics.

Yet to be officially reported on the news, we wanted to notify local schools with an early warning to be wary of any emails from Biossance Cosmetics.

For best cyber security practice, do please ensure your teams are aware not to trust ANY emails that are not expected or from known contacts. Please also ensure they’re wary of any Office documents that they receive via email, as they may contain malicious links, and should they encounter a message ‘Enable Content’, this email, should it be enabled, could potentially contain ransomware!

Don’t trust an email on first sight, double-check the recipient’s email address and if you’re not certain, don’t open it!

This cyber-attack once again highlights the importance of regular staff training and phishing testing.  If you have any concerns or think one of your employees may have been duped into clicking on a malicious link, do feel free to get in touch with the Sweethaven team, we’re happy to help.
